For a one-night visit with a friend, this worked really well. I found the room that day and called ahead. The person who checked us in was so nice, explained everything clearly, and even brought hand soap up himself after we called to say there wasn’t any. The rooms were clean, I felt safe and comfortable, and the location was very good. The outside noise gets loud at night and the rooms are small, so I can see how a longer stay might be an issue. The shower has no door, which leaves the whole bathroom extremely wet. Still, for a short stay with good service and cleanliness, I’d recommend it. I paid close to $160 for the night, booked that day through Priceline, which seemed like a decent price. One star off for those issues.

My wife and I booked this place for a show at the Wiltern Theatre because it looked walkable. The front desk warned us not to walk back from the theater because of neighborhood crime. The hotel was nowhere near boutique, despite the pictures. We arrived at 2pm, an hour before regular check-in, and had to pay another $20. The room was tiny and dirty, and after the minisplit had run for a while it smelled like urine. Construction in the building five feet next door meant saws and nail guns all day; the view was a pile of pigeon poop on that building. The $34 “secure” parking was not secure either. The gate looked like it hadn’t been closed in ten years and had vines growing through it. Nobody was checking vehicles, many of which had no hotel parking tags, and the valet stand was vacant. At checkout I mentioned the urine smell. The front desk said he’d tell the manager and that I could be contacted. Two weeks later, Capital One flagged a $350 purchase in LA on the card I’d used for the booking. I hadn’t used that card in months, hadn’t even taken it with me, and the hotel had charged the card on file at check-in. The charge, which was luckily declined, was at a Mexican restaurant about 10 miles away. I called the hotel again and asked the manager to call me because someone there had taken my card number. Maybe it was even the manager, since he never called back. It’s now been over a week. I’m warning people not to stay here.

The room could use another mirror, preferably a full-length one, and the TV volume is so low at its highest setting that outside noise drowns it out. That’s the reason for the missing star. Otherwise, this is an adorable boutique-style hotel, affordable and easy to get around from, with loads of bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and gave great food recommendations.

Edwin, Henry, and Christopher gave excellent service at this adorable boutique hotel. It’s a sweet hidden gem in a friendly, walkable Koreatown neighborhood with no stress. We’ll definitely stay again.
