Hollywood Volume, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The bed was super comfortable, the pillows were great, and the place was relatively clean. Staff were friendly and helpful too. There’s a beautiful fireplace in the lobby and a small bar where you can order breakfast, though don’t expect a restaurant. It’s walk-up ordering, more cafe style. Coffee is available in the lobby from 6:30 am, but there’s no coffee or water in the room, and not much in the way of amenities. Weekends get very loud, with a rooftop country bar and a restaurant packed for events. Bar patrons line up outside the hotel and drunk people come back through the lobby. That wasn’t my favorite. If you’re visiting to party and have a good time, it could be a great place to stay. The lobby is quite amazing, though. In my 20s or 30s, I’d probably have loved it.

The rooms at this beautiful 5-star hotel in Downtown LA still have the charm it had as Tommy's Hollywood. Our status got us another suite upgrade, this time with a view of the iconic Hollywood Sign from the room 😀 Breakfast was included and, honestly, better than when it was Tommy’s before. On our last visit we were upgraded too, but only got continental breakfast. This time there were more choices, including small hot dishes and healthy options. Everything tasted so good, like it was made with care and love.

I was unsure about booking after reading the complaints, but my stay has been flawless. I’m Titanium elite, and the front desk did a great job checking me in and explaining my benefits. The location is incredible, and the rooms are like a Moxy, maybe a bit better. My one gripe is that there’s no fridge in the room. The destination fee gets you a nice happy hour, and the staff are super friendly. Give it a try, I think you’ll like it :)

The rooftop bar brings a great energy to the hotel, and the staff and service are outstanding. Regular rooms are small but have what you need. Management recognized my bonvoy status and moved me to a larger room, though your mileage may vary. I’d recommend it if you need a place in the Hollywood area for under $400.
