Howard Johnson Inn and Suites Reseda

The family who runs this place were so kind. They jump-started our car, lent us a scale, and patiently answered all our questions. The hotel itself was clean and affordable, with nice rooms, a small pool, a hot tub, and a really good breakfast spread. I'd book here again in a heartbeat.

The staff were the best part of staying here. They were friendly, kind, generous, and sweet, and we grew to love them. They made the stay really nice. We were there for a couple of months after a family emergency, and the place was clean and pleasant. The breakfast was amazing too. I'd definitely recommend it.

There wasn't anything about the room that would make me want to come back soon. Mine faced the street at the front, and light came in all night even with the curtains closed. The room was pretty clean and the staff were nice enough. It's an inexpensive option I wouldn't rule out, but it wouldn't be my first pick.

The room was quiet and the bathroom clean, and the air conditioning worked really well, a big plus in summer. My bed was clean but a bit firm for my taste. The desk staff were friendly when I checked in late Sunday and let me choose between rooms. They suggested an upstairs one might be quieter since I was staying a while. There is no elevator, so you'll need to carry your bags up if you choose that option. I haven't tried the free breakfast yet, though it looked decent as I passed by. The CVS next door is about all there is nearby. This isn't the best neighborhood, and I wouldn't want to stroll around after dark. Inside, though, it's a nice little hotel, just don't expect the Ritz Carlton.
