Motel 6-Sepulveda, CA - Los Angeles - Van Nuys - North Hills

I stayed here while my brother was in a nearby hospital. The neighborhood felt a little rough, but that's outside the hotel's control. The room was extremely clean, I felt safe, and every staff member I dealt with was kind. It was just what I needed, with no complaints. I'd stay again 👍

I stayed for a couple of weeks and mostly had a pretty good experience. Most of the staff were friendly, especially one woman at the morning front desk who was exceptionally warm and always had a smile. The security was regularly monitoring the motel, which helped me feel safe. I'm giving it four stars because another woman at the front desk was quite rude.

I was in Room 102 by the main office and felt very safe there as a travel nurse on my own with my cat. The room was clean and quiet, and housekeeping was wonderful and kind. The front desk staff were professional, helpful, and accommodating. Excellent stay. Thanks, Motel 6, for leaving the light on! A great reflection on the company.

I've enjoyed Motel 6 before, but this stay was rough. My main concern was the smell and the reaction I had to it. I first got room 106, which reeked of cigarette or other smoke mixed with what seemed like roach or bug spray. The front desk let me switch to 107, but it smelled exactly the same. It was already 8 or 9 p.m., so I assumed all the rooms were like that and unpacked. While lying in bed, I felt vapors or allergens affecting me. My throat got scratchy and irritated, and breathing became difficult. I slept about an hour, then woke up vomiting. Outside, I was hit with marijuana and cigarette smoke. It seemed like many guests were smoking marijuana in their rooms with the doors open, letting smoke drift across the property, and the smell made me vomit even more, almost uncontrollably. Around 10:30 p.m., I went back to the desk and said I was having a bad allergic reaction to the smoke and what seemed to be roach spray. I asked whether they had an allergy-free room. The front desk was courteous and found room 209 upstairs, which thankfully didn't have those awful smells. But I'm disabled and in pain, and moving my belongings upstairs was very difficult and painful. It took almost an hour. I also hope I wasn't charged twice.
