The dog situation during my last two or three months was awful. Neighbors had several dogs, including one that sounded like a junkyard dog and barked loudly at all hours, from 7 in the morning to 2 at night. I reported it and nothing happened. They also let the dogs relieve themselves on their patio instead of walking and picking up after them. Every week or so, they hosed the feces into the General Plaza and sometimes my doorway. Again, I reported it and nothing was done. By the time I moved, my patio entrance smelled of fresh and sun-dried dog feces, and flies swarmed on fresh-feces days. It was a health hazard and incredibly inconsiderate. Managing the building from afar may mean things like this get missed. The move-out inspection didn’t sit right with me either. I repainted the accent walls white, but the report said I’d used the wrong color. It was a different shade of white. I had no idea there were 258 shades, and when I asked how I was meant to know, I was told I could have asked. My primer, paint, labor, materials, and time counted for nothing, and I was charged for a full repaint. The inspection report was meant to give tenants a chance to correct issues, yet it didn’t even specify the color. A different white shade also seems like it would take less paint than painting white over red. The inspector also said I’d be charged for cleaning without looking around. I’d cleaned around the toilet seat hinge holes, used a special tool for trash in the sliding closet door, scrubbed the grout with Brite Grout and two brushes, cleaned the baseboard heating with Mr. Clean, cleared the dryer filter, swept professionally and leaf blew, and cleaned the fridge and freezer, among other things. That all counted for nothing, and the form got a full-clean checkmark. I tried to return the apartment how I’d want to find it, but it felt like the inspection results were set before the pen touched the form. I don’t understand why large property management companies do these inspections this way. I paid about $50,000 to live in a studio for two years and returned it in very good condition. Did fictional inspection charges really need to add unearned nickels and dimes? I did have a good experience with Carina Amador, who handled my move-out communications well. She was timely, courteous, gracious, and fair, and I felt we both did our best to make the turnover go smoothly. She’s an excellent associate. I still give the complex four stars because the people are good, Kevin Amaya and maintenance do their part, and the apartments, pool, and location are great. These are my parting glances: positive feedback for Carina Amador, and concern about letting some pet owners repeat bad behavior without boundaries or consequences.

Abraham, Kevin, and Leo were courteous and kept me informed while they worked on the noise problem. They asked questions, listened carefully, and showed persistence, tenacity, strong problem-solving, and excellent customer service. The noise was interrupting my sleep, health, work, and livelihood. Building management let it continue for 4+ months, but the maintenance team found the source and fixed it within 8 days of being told about the problem. Building management should follow their example.

The view from my 12th-floor studio was hard to beat, especially after dark with the city lit up. It was a decent size for one person, and the building felt clean and safe. Maintenance requests were handled quickly and efficiently. I had a small leasing hiccup at the end, but the Skye team dealt with it gracefully and professionally.

I had three things go wrong at once: the washer, dishwasher, and a blind all needed attention. Abraham and Kevin took care of them promptly and were highly professional while working in my apartment. The blinds were replaced and the washer was fixed, so I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks to you both, and to Skye at Bunker hill.

The buildings are clean and well kept, and I see the common areas being cleaned every morning. The walls between units are concrete, so noise has been low. Maintenance usually responds within 24 hours, and Fernando and Juan are polite and professional. Management has been friendly, too. Adam Brown answered all my questions before I signed the lease and was accommodating. I’m glad I moved here. Bunker Hill has everything I could ask for: a great location within walking distance of Metro and restaurants, a beautiful pool, jacuzzi, gym, indoor parking garage, tennis court, BBQ area, dog park, and a breathtaking view. My unit is fully renovated and has in-unit laundry.
