Hotel Los Gatos

The neighborhood was great for walking around and browsing shops, and the free breakfast was very nice. I wish my room hadn’t faced the road, but the windows kept the traffic noise out. The blackout curtains and fireplace were perfect.

The hot tub and grounds made it easy to unwind, with those beautiful trees all around. Our room was stunning, and Los Gatos made for a fabulous trip. We visited the nearby Hakone estate and gardens, and found excellent food and shops close to the hotel. The price felt well worth it, and we can’t wait to return.

I really enjoy the hotel, but unfortunately I won’t stay here again. Before my visit, I called to extend my room to two nights and repeatedly confirmed that I was extending the same stay. It sounded as if they were making a new reservation, though. After my party, I came back late and my key no longer worked. I had to check in all over again just to get into the building and my room. When I asked the Clerk with long blond hair and a beard why, he rudely said I had chosen to make two separate reservations. I wrote to management right away when they asked how the stay was going, and never got a response. The hotel outsources reservations, and the person who booked for us promised a connecting room with two Queen beds. At check-in, the staff said the hotel doesn’t even have that room setup. On a previous stay, a cleaning lady made me return a water I’d taken from the workout room, saying bottled water was only for guests who used the gym. They also knocked at 9am to ask about cleaning and woke me up. If checkout time hasn’t come and there’s no sign asking them to come in, they shouldn’t be disturbing guests.
