Chumash Casino Resort

We stopped for coffee while passing through, and it was a terrible experience. We were singled out from a big group entering at the same time and asked to hand over our driver's licenses for scanning. Nobody else was asked. The coffee itself was good, but the staff treated us strangely, as if we were criminals just because we weren't locals. On the way out, security made contact with us on every level of the parking garage, which felt intimidating. The blatant discrimination and racial profiling were astounding and disgusting. We love casinos, but this one was awful. After paying for coffee and being treated so poorly, we decided not to spend any more money here. A bad road trip stop, and I wouldn't recommend the place.

We visit Solvang every year, and this casino is a good distance away for the trip. The service is great and it's kid friendly. Check out the upper-level pool and bar, though it's for guests 21 and older. The 24-hour Starbucks has lots of good food options too. The hotel was almost perfect, but bring your own pillow. I'd take four stars off for those pillows, lol.

The casino had a lively, fun feel without being too much, and the slot machines seemed generous. I saw plenty of people winning. The hotel is attractive, spotless, and well cared for, with beautiful scenery around it. I had a great night at Chumash Casino and Hotel and can't wait to return. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The drive in is winding and feels unsafe, and once you're inside, the smoke is hard to ignore. Smoking is allowed in the casino, so people blow smoke around you while you play, and you come home reeking of cigarettes. The slots felt tight and weren't worth the difficult ride. Service was bad too, with servers rushing past, and they charge for coffee. There are better casinos with easier drives, better slot play and promotions, cleaner spaces, and better service. I'm unlikely to go back.
