Red Roof Inn Shreveport

My kids and I spent almost two weeks in room 224 without air conditioning. The phones at the front desk were always down when we called. They changed my room three times, and each room was worse. I believe that was intentional. Housekeepers would wait until I left, come in without cleaning, and look around for things to steal. Other times they'd just walk by and not clean at all. When I asked if we could get clean towels and bed covers, a worker said I wasn't on the cleaning list and that skipping days was their policy. My room never got cleaned. Any service we got was only because I kept asking. Zero stars!

The only good part was the AC. The stay wasn't awful, but it felt very much like a motel. The photos online don't match the room I had, and nothing looked newly renovated. There was a patch by the bed where a hole used to be, cigarette burn holes and stains on the sheets, and dust on the floors in several spots even on my second day. The bathroom was tiny, the drawers weren't clean inside, and the sink and shower water got warm but not very hot. There were maybe three working TV channels. There wasn't even a Bible in the nightstand drawer, like you'd normally find. I'd choose somewhere else unless it were a last resort.

There wasn't a trash can in the room, and no phone to call the front desk either. Mold was in both the bathtub and refrigerator, the smoke detector had been cut off the wall, and weed smell filled the area around the corner of the building. When I asked for two more towels, the night manager gave me three short ones and one full towel. He had an attitude when I said we wouldn't pay for damage that was already there before we arrived. I'll never stay here again. I hope Red Roof Inn Corporate pulls this place's license. It's absolute trash.

The rooms are dated and could use paint touch-ups, more housekeepers, and a repair to the door. Still, the location is great, and the staff they have go above and beyond to help, which makes it worth staying. It's also in a safe industrial area, so I'll take an outdated room for the sake of our safety.
