Courtyard by Marriott Louisville Northeast

I was here for a two-week business trip and didn't have a single complaint. The staff were excellent, the front desk was helpful and knew their stuff, and the cleaning crew was amazing. My room was always tidy and fully stocked.

The location is good and the service was good, but the hotel feels tired and could use an upgrade. Our room didn't even have a Smart TV. I've stayed at a lot of Courtyards as a Marriott Lifetime Platinum member. I might come back because the place was clean and the staff were good.

The staff were pleasant, but that's about the only good thing I can say. My room smelled strange, there was a puddle standing in the middle of the floor, and the door latch barely worked. I told the staff about it. They said they'd pass the message to the manager and have them contact me, but nobody ever did. Find somewhere else to stay.

The desk clerk who checked us in was friendly and helpful, but the room gave us one problem after another. The TV didn't work, the toilet handle was broken and literally coming out of the toilet, and ants were crawling around a warm mini fridge. We called the front desk three times and eventually got moved. The second room was fine otherwise, but its TV still didn't work properly. We were told the digital channels were out and only a limited set of analog ones worked: news, sports, and a channel showing Forensic Files around the clock. There wasn't a single kids' channel. Getting the room issues sorted out took up much of the evening, leaving my son only about 30 minutes to swim before the pool closed. In the morning, I asked the woman at the desk where to order breakfast. She wasn't helpful or friendly, just said, "We don't have free breakfast here, you have to pay for it." I said I knew that, I just wanted to know where to order, and she pointed with a rude look like I was bothering her. We stayed two nights, and nobody cleaned our room. When we got back on the second evening, wet towels were on the floor and the trash was so full we couldn't fit anything else. We won't stay here again.
