Hampton Inn St. Charles St. Peters

The rooms themselves were good, and the stay was decent, but renovation work was going on. Missing baseboards and other unfinished details made the place look a little unkempt. One evening we hoped to unwind with a movie, but the streaming services weren’t working. There was basic cable, which was okay.

This one is quieter and more accommodating than the hotel by the casino where we usually stay, so we’ll be back. We checked in Saturday night, and the staff handled it quickly and were really friendly. The rooms were great.

Even before the planned renovations, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is what makes this place stand out. The staff decorated our room after learning I was stopping on the way home from getting married, and everyone made us feel looked after. They also booked us for our first anniversary next year at a special discounted rate as a little gift. I’ve stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns, and this experience changed how I felt after three bad Hampton stays four years ago. I’m looking forward to seeing the updates.

Breakfast was the bright spot: it was hot, the options rotated well, and our kids loved the waffles. We stayed three nights, though the hot tub was half empty Saturday and smelled like feet and mold by Sunday. Our room wasn’t serviced, either. No fresh towels, no made beds, and none of the amenities were replaced.
