Moxy Louisville Downtown

Just wrapped up my third stay, and I love this place. The rooms are small, so I wouldn't choose it for an extended stay, but it's perfect for a long weekend. The staff are incredibly nice, the lobby bar has a great vibe, and everything is walkable. The hotel food is fast, fresh, and affordable. I live in indy, and lots of concerts and comedians skip us and end up in LOU, so I'm glad I found a great place to stay when they do. For parking, I recommend the wharf parking garage on witherspoon. It's less than two blocks away and costs $25 a night.

We stayed here for our anniversary, and it was fantastic. Daphne helped us check in with a great personality and was so helpful. She gave us a token to celebrate our special time, which got us complementary access to delicious food and drinks. Tiara made fabulous cocktails and was really kind and personable too. The downstairs lounge is spacious and vibey, with cool seating, and the rooms are fun and modern. It was a great stay, 10/10, and we're absolutely making this our permanent hotel downtown. Stay here!

We could walk around downtown, return to the hotel for a break, then head out again without any hassle. The views from our room were great too, with the river, bridge, KFC stadium, and nightlife below. The room was smaller than we're used to, but it was clean, comfortable, modern, and laid out well. The Moxy Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky has a playful look, including an elevator styled like a Pac-Man game. Check-in happens at the bar, which was new to me. We got drink chips for two strawberry lemonades for the kids, and I upgraded mine to a delicious mezcal cocktail. The bartender was friendly and knew a lot about local whiskeys and things to do nearby. A fun, convenient place to stay.

I used to love this Moxy. The rooms are relatively roomy, there are lots of restaurants nearby, and the service has been great. The staff are still really awesome, and the new manager does know his whiskey. But after hearing about the food allergy policy, I dropped my rating to three stars and will stay somewhere else tomorrow, then for the weekly trips over the next several months. They wouldn't accommodate my allergy in the three-taco deal. I was told I'd have to order each taco separately, pay more, and get fewer toppings. The explanation was that kitchen staff can't handle modifications and mistakes raise food costs. I only asked to remove an ingredient, which should reduce costs. Errors in the kitchen or while entering an order aren't the customer's fault. This policy comes from corporate, but it affects guests and staff. The new manager explained it in a way that really infuriated me.
