Red Roof Inn Louisville Fair and Expo

The room cleanliness has slipped, and the front desk has become awful. I now wait ten minutes just to be greeted and assigned a room, and once I was told I couldn't use a pen. The office staff seem completely uncaring. On my last stay, the TV didn't work in my first-floor room, so after I had unpacked everything, they moved me to the third floor. There were only six cars in the lot, yet they said there were no other first-floor rooms. This motel used to be the best in the city, but customer service doesn't seem to matter anymore.

My stay could have been fine, but the conduct of some managers ruined it. The young woman at the front desk repeatedly answered guests in a dismissive, argumentative way, with no courtesy or customer service. A thin, young man working from late morning into early evening also put his personal phone calls ahead of helping guests. When I came to the desk with a question, he kept talking instead of ending the call to assist me. Hospitality starts with respect, and these employees seemed to lack that basic standard.

It was quiet, and the room was clean and smelled really nice. There were lots of nearby choices for food and entertainment. I had an awesome stay and will definitely come back.

The room was decent, and otherwise it wasn't bad. But the woman working the desk at night was extremely rude and unprofessional. She complained when I asked her to fix my key that wasn't working and make me a new one. I've never had that be a problem at another hotel.
