The customer service was great throughout the five days, and the stay itself was excellent. The entrance is really hard to spot when you arrive, day or night. Maybe this is a new location for it, but it needs lighting, like pathway lights or a lit flagpole. There was no breakfast from the hotel, and I wasn't impressed by the attached Burger Theory restaurant.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Justice Ave in Lubbock for Texas Tech graduation weekend, May 15-17, 2026. The sheets looked dirty and as if they hadn't been changed, there was marker graffiti on the wall, and neither TV worked right. Staff eventually replaced the sheets, but customer service was awful. One employee hung up when we asked about switching rooms, and the TV problem never got fixed. Graduation weekend may be busy, but cleanliness and basic service still matter. We would have left if other hotels had been available. We won't return.

After more than three years of staying here, I'm done. Matthew is a jerk, doesn't care, and makes excuses when asked for extra pillows, blankets, or anything else. There's no free breakfast, unlike at every other Holiday Inn, and the convenience and amenities are lacking. Holiday Inns are usually our go-to, but this one is off the list. The location is okay, though rooms facing the restaurant get traffic noise all night. There are better suites for less.

I paid a substantial amount for a huge suite, but the room was in poor shape and felt neglected. The master bedroom DirecTV didn't work, even after we reset it as the only help offered. There was one Roku remote for three TVs. Wi-Fi wouldn't connect to my computer, so I had to use my hotspot; Matthew told me to call a hotline, though I pay the hotel for service and shouldn't have to chase help. The automatic blinds were confusing and had no instructions, bathroom fixtures were loose or exposed, and the master bedroom had cracks, unpainted spots, and ceiling water damage. It felt like a neglected room sold at a premium. I emailed the manager a week ago and still haven't heard back. The evening front desk attendant, Matthew, also told my family we couldn't sit and eat pizza in either the lobby or patio. After over 20 years of frequent work travel, I've never been told I couldn't use a hotel's common area to eat. We expected to relax there, as we do at virtually every hotel. It makes no sense to have those spaces sitting empty while guests eat on their beds; if they're not for guests, they shouldn't be presented as amenities. This was far beyond a minor inconvenience. I won't stay here again, and I'll tell my colleagues and employees to avoid it when they're in the area. Management needs to address the policies and room conditions, and corporate should look into this location. As a business owner, I'd be embarrassed and act immediately if I heard of these issues at my company.

I was there for my mother's Homegoing and celebration of a life lived with such fervor. The atmosphere was wonderful, and Alex and his team were nice. But the charges were upsetting. Holiday Inn used to feel like a place for people and families, where kids stayed free. Now it feels like they're focused on every dollar, and that's sad. We reserved rooms for out-of-town guests, and people were overcharged and charged twice. I also lost my glasses, though I did enjoy the stay.
