Super 8 by Wyndham Lubbock West

We won't be back. We arrived late because of a family death, and my husband had booked an extra night so we could sleep in. We only saw the room's condition after booking; if we'd seen it first, we never would have added the night. Staff came banging on the door twice, waking and scaring all the kids, when they should have notified our guest before disturbing them. The room was filthy: stained sheets, food crumbs everywhere, and sticky red stuff all over the phone. It looked like they'd just made the beds and called it clean. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

The elevator was painfully slow, and at times I worried I might get stuck in the door. Also, the hot tub was out of service when I was there, so call ahead to check whether it's open. I went for a tech football weekend and could hardly find anything else to complain about. The women at the front desk were sweet and answered all my questions. Breakfast was really good and had everything you'd expect at a smaller hotel.

Whenever I'm in Lubbock, I stay here. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff are always so friendly. Breakfast is amazing, and the place is affordable and nice. It's the hotel I tell people to stay at.

The floors in both rooms we were shown felt like they were sinking, and we were walking at an angle. When I asked the front desk for a different room, the clerk moved us next door without seeming to care. It had the same problem, and both rooms were very dirty. We left without staying. I felt unsafe there, and the lack of pride in the work was obvious throughout the hotel. Disgusting. Don’t stay here.
