The breakfast was good, and the young woman working there did a great job. The evening clerk was friendly too. But when we got to the room, the carpet was absolutely filthy, and we couldn’t walk on it without shoes. At checkout I mentioned it, and the desk person said she already knew because they were waiting to replace the carpet instead of shampooing it. At $139, that didn’t seem right. If the day clerk had been the one who greeted us the night before, I would have gone down the road to another motel. I also wouldn’t have stayed if I’d known it was a pet motel. A dog barking outside our door woke me at 6 a.m. Only a few hot tub jets worked, and the pool was too cold to get into. Probably wouldn’t stay again.

The booking process was a nightmare, and then my daughter tested positive for Covid the day before our visit. She’s Type 1 diabetic, so illness hits her hard. I’d paid extra for the Booking Refund Program and expected a refund, but they insisted on a doctor’s documentation. I sent a photo of the positive test, and they still wouldn’t accept it. It’s not like people usually go to the doctor after testing positive. We’d been told we had the last available room because a sporting event had the hotel booked up, so I’m sure they could have sold our unused room. I work in customer service too, and I know policies can allow exceptions. I understand there are rules, but paying for the refund program did us no good. Don’t bother with it.

The staff were excellent and friendly, but the room wasn’t a good experience. The pool area was surprisingly dark. In the kids’ room, I lifted the mattress to move it and found latex gloves and used tissues underneath. The carpets and chair were stained, the drapes were filthy and yellow, and the toilet was loose from the floor with hardware missing from the seat.

For what my husband and I paid each night, I expected a clean, comfortable hotel with some luxury. This felt more like a motel, and it wasn’t worth the price. The breakfast was pretty average. The carpet felt dirty and icky, so we had to keep shoes or socks on. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, and the chair in the corner looked like it had bodily fluids on it and had been torn up by a cat. I wish we’d taken a picture. There were cracks everywhere too. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
