We came to Vermont to visit our son and couldn't spend much on accommodations. Still, the low price doesn't excuse how filthy this hotel was. An old, inexpensive place would have been fine if it were clean. Don't hotels have health inspections? The bathroom floor clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was dust and dirt everywhere, stains on the walls, and when I wiped a spot on the bathroom floor with a washcloth it came away black. The room smelled awful. We went back to the office for another room. It smelled better, but it was just as dirty. I'm glad I'd brought my own bedspread and blankets. We could probably have found somewhere just as cheap and clean.

The bedding was clean, the water was hot, and the woman at the check-in desk was very pleasant. I stayed one night in March, near the end of ski season, and found the place quite comfortable and very affordable. It's no luxury hotel, so there was a dent in the bathroom door and the refrigerator's plastic freezer door fell off, but those details didn't bother me. I'd stay again.

It turned out better than I expected, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were there on a peak October weekend when everything within 50 miles was sold out, so we had been apprehensive after reading the earlier reviews. Our stay was okay. I think the room had recently been remodeled, though they hadn't fully cleaned up the debris.

The bed was comfortable, and I got a room on short notice for only $75. But the staircase carpet was totally dirty, and the whole place felt run-down, dusty, and creepy. The hallway was depressing, and it looked like nothing had been updated in 50 years. Unless you're desperate or, like me, book without reading reviews, this isn't where you'd want to stay. Don't stay here.

The bathroom was disgusting: a dirty toilet, grime and hair in the tub, and floor tiles peeling up with broken edges. There were cobwebs, and after checking the bed for bugs we still felt uneasy. Ceiling tiles had brown spots, and one was dripping something. The whole place was dirty. People who lived there were going in and out all night, loud and rude. The hot tub was gross, with the owners' kids' things scattered around it. We pulled up wanting to leave, but had nowhere else to go. I went to ask for my money back, and we were literally ready to sleep in the car when they refused. They were rude, locked the office door, and wouldn't open it. DO NOT STAY HERE.
