Motel 6 Luling, LA

The place was about what I expected, except the AC in one room. It cooled things down, but the thermostat didn't work, so I had to keep adjusting it.

The staff were very attentive and fixed the door when we told them it wasn't locking properly. Even so, we didn't feel comfortable and left after getting some rest. The motel was cleaner than the last Motel 6 we'd visited, which was the one upside. We just needed somewhere to rest for the night. I understand early check-in fees, but the added cost wasn't worth it. We were also charged for our pets because a previous guest's dog had peed on a bed. I understand a deposit, but this non-refundable charge doubled the room price. We were exhausted, so we paid it. Pet owners, be aware: it isn't worth the cost.

Not the best fit for families, though our overall stay was okay. We stayed three nights at the Motel 6 in Luling. The gentleman at registration in the evening was superb, and the rooms had been updated a little, but still needed a lot of work. People in the room next door smoked, and the smoke came through the AC into our non-smoking room. On day two, two guys were standing outside their room in just briefs, drinking.

After Marti Gras, we needed a place to sleep before heading back to Dallas. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff, Cindy and Rhiannon, were friendly and accommodating. We arrived late because parade traffic made the trip from New Orleans take 30 minutes, and they let us check out an hour later. We'll stay again next year for our Marti Gras trip.
