Economy Inn

The rooms smell old and musty, aren’t cleaned properly, and I’ve had to kill roaches. I rented here for about two months, usually getting the same one bed or two bed room. For weeks, the same nasty spot stayed on the wall and floor in the two bed room. I kept giving the husband and wife the benefit of the doubt and spending my hard-earned money there, but tonight the woman brought up my situation because I was a dollar short on the $5 key deposit, which I was going to get back at checkout in the morning. The owners are rude and only want your money. They don’t care about your situation and throw it back in your face after hearing you out. They’re the cheapest in the area, but still not worth $75. This is a boom boom room for one night only. I don’t recommend staying here, not even for one night.

We slept well in comfortable beds, and the room was clean, everything worked, and there were no bugs or odd smells. The water pressure was amazing, and we felt safe. It’s an older motel, but well kept and very nice for an overnight stay. For the price, we were fine with bringing our own shampoo and having no continental breakfast. I’d stay again.

There were roaches everywhere, and the showers were disgusting. The managers were very rude. My husband went out to smoke and a manager told him to come back to the room. Later, we left to get food at 10 p.m.; when we returned, they called and said nobody could leave that late and we’d be kicked out if we went out again. While we were gone, they entered our room and took pictures of my clothes on the floor after I’d changed. Then he said we had to leave because the room was dirty. We’d been sleeping in and had told housekeeping we didn’t need her, but the manager said everyone had to get up, leave the room, and stand beside it for 10-15 minutes until they were done. Don’t stay here.

We stopped for the night while driving through NC, and the cute, clean, quiet room worked out great. The owner at the front desk was super helpful and very nice, never rude. She won’t take any BS, which I actually think is great. We didn’t run into any of the problems others mentioned in their reviews. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!
