Days Inn by Wyndham Luray Shenandoah

We wanted an affordable overnight stop, and this hotel was conveniently located and a very good price. The staff were courteous, informative, and professional. The rooms had what we needed, including a mini fridge and microwave, and the beds were comfortable. There was an easy-to-reach ice machine, hot water in the shower, and coffee, other hot drinks, muffins, and granola bars in the morning. It’s a practical place for one or two nights, not somewhere to go for luxury. We did wish we’d had another blanket. The electric split system heater made the air too dry, but it was too cool to turn it off completely. An outside light shone in above the curtain at night, and the sink faucet was wonky but usable. Still, if you’re after clean, comfortable, and convenient, it fits.

The town is sleepy, with not much to see or do, and the hotel looked closed until we arrived and realized someone was there. The room was basic, as expected, with a little dust and dirt around the edges but nothing too bad. The pillows were good. It’s handy if you’re spreading a Shenendoah national park visit over a couple of days, and probably the best option in town.

A decent base for a visit to Luray Caverns. The location was very convenient, and the rooms were clean, though small. There’s no breakfast, just hot drinks in the lobby. I’d rate it 3.5 if I could.

The stay was fine until we tried to shower. Water backed up in the tub, and the front desk clerk was so rude when I called that nobody was sent to fix it. It finally drained after about an hour, but after the next shower the water wouldn’t go down and was still there when we left in the morning. I’d give the service zero if I could.
