Quality Inn

The staff were friendly and the pool was pleasantly warm, but the hot tub was out of service. The room smelled strongly of mildew, and stains covered the carpet, sheets, pillowcases, lounge chair, and desk chair. I asked for fresh sheets and pillowcases, and those were stained too. I didn’t try another room. I just left instead of staying the night. I’ve stayed in several $50-70 motels and hotels, and this was definitely one of the nastiest.

The pool is only 3ft deep at every end, and getting in means using a ladder. One looked close to breaking, while the other was missing a step, so I used the second one. The pool towels were thin and dingy, and the room towels were just as bad. After a few steps across the carpet in white socks, the bottoms were black. The carpet seemed filthy enough to contribute to the room’s odor. We asked to switch rooms because the first one smelled so bad. The second smelled better until we turned on the air, then that same gross odor came back. In the bathroom, the chrome was pitted and the particle board had taken on moisture from the shower and become moldy and mildewy. The shower rod was installed with its curve pointing down, which made the curtain gather in the middle and impossible to close properly. It may look okay at first, but once inside it’s just nasty. Find another hotel if you want a good night’s sleep.

I’ve stayed here once a year for a couple of years, but this time the room was a letdown. It smelled like mold, there were no blackout curtains, and it took me 20 min to figure out how to get hot water in the shower. Cleaning the AC filters is simple. Do better. I have to stay across the street now.

Checking in was the easiest I’ve ever experienced, and both the room and beds were clean and comfortable. Management was friendly and accommodating too. We were very pleased we chose this place, and I’ll stay here again next time we’re in the area.
