The neighborhood was noisy, but I could barely hear it in the room while sleeping. Inside was clean and recently remodeled, with a new bed, a tiled walk-in shower, and large wood-panel blinds. There was even a bedside outlet with USB ports for charging a phone. Getting to downtown and the airport was easy.

I was in LA over Labor Day weekend in 2016 to check out neighborhoods because I'm planning to move there next year. The area seems to be going through some gentrification, and the staff were friendly. The room was small, affordable, and clean, and the grounds were clean too. It's a comfortable, safe-feeling place to sleep, and I was satisfied enough that I'll probably stay again when I visit, mainly because it's affordable. The property had only been owned since June or July and had recently been bought and gutted, so they were still working on little details. My mirror still had its price tag on it. Some basics were missing: no vending, ice machine, coffee maker, or microwave, and no iron and board in the room, though the front desk had an iron. Parking could be a little tricky, but manageable. The shower was nice and big enough for two, but the stylish sliding bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. That's not a huge deal when the room is only big enough for you and someone VERY CLOSE to you, lol.

The parking was a hassle, the pillow had hair on it, and the front desk receptionist was unfriendly. It was my first time meeting him, but his tone made me feel as if I'd done something wrong. They provide a coverlet but no quilt or blanket, so you'd need the heater to keep warm. This was the worst motel I've stayed in in the US. I'd give it zero stars if I could. Think twice before coming.

I liked the modern layout, especially the bathroom, and the flat screen had DirecTV. You can park right by your door under a covered carport. The staff were pleasant and willing to help during my stay. I didn't have my rental car, so I walked to McDonald's and back after dark. I saw people out walking with kids, and the vibe made me feel safe at the hotel and nearby. It seemed family oriented and was quiet, too. Great hotel. Also, Yun's one-star review questioned why you'd need a heater in California or ask about hooking up an HDMI cable. That sounds weird to me. If you know how to connect it, just do it and leave it how it was before checkout. Some people.

The owners were respectful and very nice, and the room was clean and worth the price. I'd stay again, though I'd give it five stars if it had a microwave, fridge, and iron with an ironing board.
