Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Austell - Powder Springs by IHG

During the winter storm, Nann, who was new, was patient, attentive, and made sure I felt looked after. I first asked to move because my room was near the elevator. She explained that it was actually one of the best rooms in the hotel, which was completely sold out. Her willingness to help and positive attitude made a stressful situation much easier. I had a great experience at Holiday Inn Express on 1/25. Thank you, Nann!

The staff were wonderful. At arrival, the young man at the desk was friendly and offered several ways to make it easy for my husband to get through the facility. In the morning, I told them non-handicapped vehicles had taken the accessible parking spaces, leaving my husband nowhere to park. They dealt with it right away and made sure he was accommodated. That attentiveness matters. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was decent, though they need to keep the bacon coming. I arrived early to find an empty tray, a small personal tragedy. On road trips we usually keep lodging basic, just a night to sleep, shower, have coffee, and go. This Holiday Inn Express surprised me. The bed was so comfortable that at one point I thought I was in my own bed, which is high praise from a Princess and the Pea sleeper. Comfortable and kind service made it a very worthwhile stop on a long drive.

I liked the coffee machine that grinds regular or decaf beans on demand around the clock, and the pancake machine at breakfast was another favorite. The fitness room could be a little bigger, but everything works and it does the job. We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We didn't expect much based on the brand standards, but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made this stay stand out from our usual trips. We'll stay here again when we're in the area.

The beds were comfortable and breakfast tasted good, and the hotel itself was nice, though it seemed older and upgraded. But the third-floor room my cousin and I had was crawling and flying with ladybugs. It was creepy and made the stay really uncomfortable. Management only said they'd sprayed and that the bugs were coming through a window. Holiday Inn should have top-of-the-line pest control. When we asked to change rooms, we were told they were all booked. We were from out of town for an event, so we felt we had no choice. This wasn't acceptable. Holiday Inn, do better by your guests.
