Super 8 Austell/Six Flags

We came for a birthday vacation, and this hotel ruined it. The online photos are a lie, and for what I paid, I feel completely ripped off. I don’t have money to waste, and I’ll never come back. It felt like a trap house. There was something crawling around, crap on the lampshades, a nasty toilet, and I had to keep getting my card reactivated. You’d better shower with socks on. I couldn’t find another nearby hotel at such short notice. I called Expedia, and they contacted the hotel. The hotel told Expedia they’d shown me nine rooms and that I found a problem with each one. It’s a shame that so many rooms had issues. The two rooms I picked were the only options I could choose from among these despicable choices. I don’t understand how they’re still in business.

The location was good, and staff were quick to help when I had questions. The room was cleaned daily, and all the appliances worked well. My main issue was the little flying insects, which were annoying. I enjoyed my stay and will come back next time.

We spent three hours dealing with the problem before they let us into our rooms. We stayed for three nights, and I got bitten all night by bed bugs or something like that. The one thing they had going for them was good water pressure in the showers. Check-in was awful. I’d booked two rooms through booking.com and paid two months before arriving. The lady looked it up and said they’d received payment for one room, but claimed the card had declined for the second. I had to call booking.com customer service, which was awful too. After all that time on the phone and dealing with everything, it took three hours for us to get into the rooms.

The only good thing was the location, since we’d spent the day at 6 flags before checking in. A friend originally recommended the place, but it was extremely disappointing and nowhere near worth what we paid. We arrived and checked in at 10 p.m., took photos right away, and left early the next morning, before our original checkout time, because we were so uncomfortable. The place was disgusting, not even decently clean, and the rooms looked nothing like the fake photos in the ads. The keypad lock in our room was broken off, which was terrifying. There was dirt everywhere and the TV was crooked. It was rough all around, and you’d think at least basic cleaning would have been done. I have time and date labels on the photos to show they were taken shortly after check-in, plus a video. I was honestly surprised it was this bad.
