Even with neighbors nearby, it was so calm and peaceful, like a breath of fresh air. The setting is picturesque and quiet. We loved staying at the Among the Texas Stars cabin, where our hosts made fresh cinnamon rolls and biscuits for our 5 day stay.

Our family of seven had plenty of space to relax, and morning coffee on the front porch in a rocking chair was lovely. This gated ranch is only 10 minutes from Fredicksburg. The farmhouse has a 1960s nostalgic feel, with each bedroom furnished in 50's and 60's style. If you're a baby boomer, it will bring back memories. We enjoyed an evening fire on the stone patio, and a dip in the hot tub is another option. Fresh homemade cinnamon rolls with milk were waiting for us, such a treat. The host is a great lady and responds very quickly.

The hosts were so kind, and always happy to share tips for nature trails and local attractions. Monarc Ranch was a peaceful countryside escape, surrounded by nature and well away from the city's bustle. It has a warm, welcoming feel, with a well-kept, charming Texas home and spacious, nicely decorated rooms with the comforts you need to relax. If you want to get away from daily stress and spend time in nature, this B&B is a great choice. I can't wait to return.

Among the Pecans was such a lovely place to spend New Year's weekend. The ranch is beautiful, with amazing views, and it's quiet while still close to Fredericksburg. The clean cabin had features we loved, including a bathtub and hot tub, plus a Christmas tree. The biscuits, banana bread, and jam were delicious. The owner also left a bottle of champaign in the refrigerator after I mentioned I planned to propose to my girlfriend that weekend. This ranch will always mean something special to us. We'll definitely return.

Our family of four, including our boys who were 5 and 3, stayed two nights at Monarc Ranch after a problem with our earlier booking for the April 8 eclipse. Cloudy weather got in the way of viewing the eclipse, but the lodging itself was outstanding. The cabin was comfortable and had all we needed, with fresh biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and a frittata in the fridge, plus candy and s'mores ingredients. The kids enjoyed the treats, watching the kitty cats and cows, and roaming around the sprawling property. Monica was a fantastic host, very hospitable and helpful whenever something came up. She even supplied bugspray we hadn't packed, loaned me an iPhone charge cable I had misplaced, and filled a leaky rental car tire on the morning we left. It was a fantastic stay, and I'd highly recommend it.
