Hampton Inn Beckley

We’ve stayed twice while traveling because of a family emergency, and the spacious rooms and comfortable beds helped us rest after stressful travel days. Breakfast had a big range of items, including plenty of protein and carbs for different appetites. What stands out most is the welcome desk staff. They greeted me warmly and communicated graciously on both visits. I also recently called about a reservation, and the person who helped handled a difficult situation with kindness and grace. He mentioned the 100% Hampton Guarantee, and I was completely satisfied. I’ll stay at the Hampton Inn Beckley again.

I’ve stayed here three times while traveling through for gymnastics meets, and it’s been excellent each time. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and I think Beckley is a cute town to stop in. The room has a minifridge, microwave, large TV, and a desk where my daughter can do schoolwork. I also liked the lighting, with bedside lamps, which is better than at most Hiltons we’ve stayed in. The rooms are exceptionally clean, thanks Tabatha, and both the AC and heat work well, which isn’t always true at Hiltons. The two women at the front desk were especially welcoming and nice. We didn’t use the pool since it’s winter. My only gripe is that I prefer softer, cozier beds, and these could be more comfortable. I don’t understand the negative reviews. I love Beckley, and this is definitely a great place to stay in the area.

The location is good and the staff are friendly, with fresh bedding and towels as I expect from Hampton. It was good value for the money, but this older hotel needs updates soon. On the fourth floor, our room had no number plate on the wall, so I wasn’t sure which room it was. Several elevator floor lights weren’t working, and the breakfast area felt worn out and too cramped for the food setup.

The staff told us they’re remodeling the whole place in Oct, which may help with the elevators. One made a clunky noise, as if bolts were loose on the cables; the other opened and closed three times before moving. Its door closed so fast that getting in alone with a luggage trolley would be tough. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast had hot and cold food, but the selection wasn’t what I expected for this kind of hotel. The eggs were floppy disk and the sausage was overcooked and rubbery.
