We stayed in the Marina View Deluxe King on the third floor, and the views were beautiful, especially with the fall leaves on October 19-20, 2025. From the room we could see the fort, docks, and little houses up on the hill. We could hear boats now and then because of the marina nearby, but the ferries stop running around 6 pm, so we had no nighttime noise from them. I don’t remember seeing it on our earlier visit, and I’m not sure if it’s specific to this room, but the bathroom had a Dyson hairdryer. The bathroom itself is on the small side, though the shower and counter had plenty of space for makeup and toiletries. Keep in mind it’s a third-floor walk-up, with two flights of stairs and, as far as I know, no elevator. Hotel Iroquois is charming inside and out, and it’s easy to reach Main Street and nearby restaurants. We hadn’t been back in more than three years, and it felt even nicer this time. The place was clean, with a turndown service that left chocolates on the pillows. There’s a complimentary breakfast in the dining room, and the porter service is included. At the mainland ferry, staff give you tags for your bags, which are then taken all the way to your room, so you don’t have to carry luggage onto the ferry. We tipped $5 for three bags. The TVs in the bedrooms also looked bigger than the ones I remember seeing in older Google Maps photos. We found good getaway prices during certain parts of the year. In slower seasons, they offer 60% off rooms for some one-night stays, while there were still plenty of visitors on the island. A few downsides: there’s no mini fridge or microwave in this room, or in the second-floor room with the side porch where we stayed three years ago. The bathrooms could be larger, and hallway voices and doors opening and closing carry into the room. The lack of an elevator may be a concern for guests with accessibility needs. You may also hear ferry horns, though I don’t remember them waking us up.

We ate at Carriage House Restaurant, and it was a highlight: delicious food with a lovely lakeside atmosphere. Our room, 103, was charming, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean, with a small private balcony facing the water. Hotel Iroquois sits right by Lake Huron, just steps from the shore, at the end of the main street near all the shops. Service was warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. We absolutely loved our stay on Mackinac Island.

The grounds were beautiful, and the hotel was clean and tidy throughout. We found the rooms lovely, the service outstanding, and all the little touches made our visit a pleasure. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. My wife especially liked the high-end hairdryer in our room. Each morning Hotel Iroquois serves a continental breakfast that was actually delicious, and there were drinks and snacks available during the day. We’ll stay here again the next time we’re on the island.

Our Lighthouse Suite was magnificent, and the views through every window were almost too beautiful to believe. We watched the sun rise from the sunny carriage room during breakfast, and the sight was amazing. At night, with the balcony screen door open, we could hear the waves and see the moon reflected on the lake. The location made it easy to get around the island and reach shops, restaurants, and fudge. The porter collected our bags at the dock and brought them to our room, leaving us free to enjoy ourselves. It was worth every penny.

Once you get to the island, just follow mainstreet to the very end and you’ll find the hotel in a perfect spot. The dock is amazing, with flowers and comfy chairs to enjoy any time of day. Watching the sunrise there in the morning felt special. The pictures online don’t capture how pretty it is in person. We also liked the two quiet seating areas at the front. Would highly recommend!
