Baymont by Wyndham Mackinaw City

Room service threw away belongings from the counters, not just the trash, and the hotel wouldn't take responsibility. They cited state laws and waivers instead of helping resolve the mistake, which cost me dearly. General manager Greg and manager Miranda ghosted me without resolving anything. They hide the do not disturb tag behind the towels instead of leaving it on the door handle like other hotels, so you may not realize you need to put it up. Their attitude was, "Well, you let us in," and Michigan law protects them. You risk having your things tossed, with no resolution.

It's an older hotel, but it was as clean as new and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location makes it easy to walk downtown, to the shops, or to the marina. The ferry office and parking lot are at the next business over. There's a Mexican restaurant behind the hotel and a long-standing hot dog place nearby. The one downside was poor soundproofing, like the contractor cut corners. I'll stay again.

We found the inn fresh-smelling and clean on arrival, and our room, the halls, and the sitting areas were all very clean. Staff were around and helpful when we needed them. It's a great spot for walking to the ferry and local attractions. I highly recommend Baymont by Wyndham in Mackinaw City.

The location made it easy to leave the car parked for our whole stay. We could walk everywhere. Our room was on the small side, but having a window that opened was lovely for fresh air. Staff were very friendly, and everything else was perfect. One safety issue: the tub gets slippery, so they should provide bath mats. I asked the desk for one. Breakfast was okay, though the same each day, but it was free. The coffee and tea station is open 24/7, with mild, regular, and strong coffee, which I'd never seen before. The pool was a little cool, while the hot tub was nice. I'd definitely return.
