Hotel Jackson

I’ve stayed at this motel before, back when it had its previous owner. When I tried to check in on June 21st 2025, I was told having a dog would cost $200 extra. I told the owner he was out of his mind and I wasn’t paying that. In my opinion, this isn’t a good motel, and I’ve found bugs there before. They also refused to refund what I’d paid for a room. If they don’t return it, I’ll speak to an attorney.

We checked in around 10 PM and learned there was a strict no-refund policy. If we could have gotten our money back, we would have left then and there. The rooms had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the hallways smelled even worse. There was visible mold in the bathroom, which was so unclean it raised serious health concerns. We had a sleepless night because of how uncomfortable it was, then checked out first thing in the morning. The pictures on the website are misleading. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

We didn’t stay, but the manager/owner refused to refund us. I’m warning people so the same thing doesn’t happen to them. I could overlook how dated Hotel Jackson is, but it was very dirty: the carpets were grimy, there was a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor, and crumbs of something were scattered across the bed under the sheets.

There was no complimentary breakfast, and the room was dirty. The sheets had stains all over them, the shower grout had mold, and the toilet was covered in pubic hair. Staff also took pictures of my debit card.
