Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Macon North, GA

We ended up staying extra days because we liked it so much. Our King Suite was great, and the breakfast bar was good too. Everyone working there gave us amazing service. I asked for an end room for some quiet, but we were in the middle and it was still nice and quiet. There are restaurants nearby, plus a pool, hot tub, and workout room, and pets are welcome. I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks, and see you next trip!

The warm saltwater pool was a huge help with my kids. It was one of the warmest pools I've been in, stayed open until 12:00 a.m., and my kids were well behaved enough to enjoy it. While they went down for breakfast, I could catch up on sleep, which matters since I can't stand the smell of food in the morning. I come through town every 28 days for my doctor in Atlanta and pause the drive so I don't overexert myself with the kids. This place makes that stop comfortable. The family ownership really shows. Everyone was kind and welcoming, relaxed but professional, and seemed focused on caring for guests rather than the money. The service stayed lovely even when I saw some guests treating the place poorly. Housekeeping was immaculate, breakfast was awesome, and our room was the cleanest and nicest we've had across so many stays. It's well maintained and updated enough that it looks like they'll keep it that way for generations. Country Inn & suites has always been my favorite brand, but this location is now my favorite place, above any brand and especially other Country Inn & suites locations. It sits between two other brands of the same type, and has the better pool, better spot, and best service to the folks. The prices are more than reasonable, and this slow down life type of town means there may still be a vacancy. I've stayed at several hotels, and if this one were somewhere else, I think it'd be booked solid all the time. I'm glad I can still afford it, and I hope the staff never forget where they came from as things change. I've stayed here more than once and rushed to say thank you before checking out. The breakfast was excellent, and check-in was easy. The front desk worker was pleasant and even offered a thoughtful little gift bag. My second-floor room was clean, with fine bedding, carpet, and bathroom. But there was a foul, old musty odor that took a long time with the fan to clear. I don't know where it came from. There was also so much noise upstairs it sounded like a literal bowling alley match. If you want to avoid that headache, choose the highest floor. The TV may be stuck on CC or other assisted settings. If you don't need them, use the remote's menu to change it. The outside and lobby looked nice, and I've had consistently good stays here before, but this latest one wasn't good. I won't be back. Be aware of parking lot scams. In the morning I found a fake 'hit my car' note on a promotional sticker with a bogus Google number, while someone in a white sedan watched me from across the lot. If you get a note like that, DO NOT call the number. Management should increase parking lot security patrols. Try to park as close to the front door as possible, and check for foul smells if you're assigned a second-floor room.

The indoor pool and spa were clean and warm, but not too warm, and both stayed open until midnight. Our room was clean and quiet all night. Brian and Sabrina welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived, and check-in was quick. They even asked which floor we preferred, which was thoughtful. Sabrina was especially friendly and kept the breakfast bar neat and clean between guests, though the food was standard hotel breakfast. We'll choose this as our hotel in the Macon area next time we need to stay overnight.
