Holiday Inn Express & Suites Macon North by IHG

I liked the freshly ground coffee machine in the lobby and the turkey sausage at breakfast. The location is handy for shops and restaurants, and we enjoyed the pool and the workspace in the comfortable lobby. The hotel was very clean, and the team, especially Akari, KP, and manager April, were professional and welcoming. My first stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Macon was a great one. I’d happily return.

I called around 7 pm last night because I needed a room, and was told only one was left. They wanted $377 for a standard room. I said that was ridiculous and to shove it, then stayed somewhere else. I love Holiday Inn, but charging a loyalty card holder like that is a ridiculous way to treat a customer. This kind of price gouging needs to be called out.

I’ve spent well over 100 nights at different IHG hotels over the last few years. They’re usually excellent and very clean, and I still plan to stay with the brand. But you find out how support really works when something goes wrong, and this experience has left me disappointed. I won’t stay at this hotel again, though Macon has other IHG options. I checked in on Dec. 1, 2025, after booking through the IHG app. It showed renovations in the lobby and food areas, which I was fine with. We were put in an older room on the third floor. At first things were fine, but at 6:30 pm we tried to nap before supper and couldn’t because of noise overhead. The front desk said nobody was staying above us and that the fourth floor was being renovated. They also said the work should have stopped much earlier. After supper we came back to an extremely loud heater. The clerk came up, agreed it was a problem, and apologized, but the hotel was full and there was no room to move us to. We barely slept that night. In the morning, the clerk offered 10,000 points, about half a night’s stay. When the manager arrived, I politely asked for enough points to cover one free night. Her posture, expression, and tone made me very uncomfortable, and she ended up canceling the points the clerk had offered. Customer relations apologized appropriately and said they would give me 10,000 points, but I still haven’t received them. That amount also falls far short of making up for the stay. The apology was well written, but I’m still disappointed.

We stayed 11/28/25 in a one-bed room and paid an extra $10 for a sitting area. It was well worth it. The room was clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and attentive when we arrived at 1:am. As a bit of a germophobe, I really appreciated how clean it was. I’d definitely come back.
