We came to Macon for one night to visit family, but the rooms were so bad we almost drove five hours home and gave up the night's payment. The location also felt a little sketchy, and the price was nearly $200 for the night. We were first assigned room 306. It had mold, hair on the bathroom and floors, and fingerprints on every glass and window. The windows across the whole building needed cleaning. They moved us, but the sheets in the next room were severely stained. I've stayed in plenty of hotels and never had this happen. The only reason we didn't leave was the great service from the front desk clerk, Chris. He was very concerned, apologized several times, and brought us clean sheets and bed linens. The whole cleaning staff needs to be fired.

I felt safe and everything was clean. The breakfast spoons were the one odd thing: unusually deep, awkward to use, and honestly a bit sharp. Otherwise I enjoyed the stay and would come back when passing through.

Breakfast was good, and we'd recommend the hotel and stay again. Check-in was easy, and the person at the desk greeted us with a smile. We booked two Handicap Rooms, both in good condition and appearing fairly new. Both bathrooms were spotless. The rooms smelled fresh, weren't humid, and had clean carpets. The beds were comfortable, and the microwave and fridge were nice touches. In one room, we found black lint and dark bits of debris on one side under the pulled-back sheets. They weren't bugs and brushed off easily. I checked the rest of the bed and found nothing. The other room was just as nice, though there seemed to be toenail clippings on the carpet beside one side of the bed.

For the price, I'd stay again. It was under $100 a night for the weekend, and the room was nice. There were lots of animals around, apparently in the first-floor rooms, so be careful if you're allergic to dogs. The room had a slight musty smell from sitting closed up, but running the AC cleared most of it. Some AC units used the thermostat while others ran from the unit itself. The key card readers could use an update: one room kept losing its programming and needed repeated scans, and other rooms took a few tries to recognize the cards.

The hotel's outside and lobby looked nice, but after that my stay went downhill. The online room photos didn't match my experience at all, and I regret staying. My first room had visible mold, a sink that wouldn't drain properly, water damage on the bathroom wall, hairs in the sink and shower, dirty vents on the AC/heater, cobwebs, and dust by the TV. The elevator sounded like it might break down. The front desk worker was kind and apologetic and tried to help me with another room. But I woke up in the second room in the middle of the night with mold related symptoms, and noticed the musty smell again. I left very early because I didn't want to stay another moment. A few days later, I was still having lingering symptoms. I'm sharing this especially for anyone with health complications from mold, and hope you'll see this and avoid the building. I highly recommend avoiding the hotel if mold affects your health. Travelocity made “multiple attempts” to contact management for a refund waiver and “were unable to obtain approval for a waiver.” I don't know whether they couldn't reach anyone or the hotel rejected the request multiple times.
