The Pitcher Inn

Every year we visit The Pitcher Inn to catch up casually with local friends at Tracks downstairs, enjoy a good craft cocktail, and soak up the atmosphere. This year Geoffrey was incredibly accommodating when we called ahead about our larger-than-usual group of 12 for happy hour. We wish the pool table, shuffleboard, and lit fire were still available, but we understand. Still an amazing place, with amazing staff serving amazing things. Thanks for being part of our Vermont experience.

It was below-zero weather, so we didn’t ski as much as we’d planned, but we had a lovely, relaxing weekend by the fire at the Pitcher Inn. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and the food was fantastic. My husband and I had a wonderful time.

We were impressed from the minute we arrived by the attentive service and care with the details. The staff were genuinely warm, and the chef made a meal that could rival a fine-dining restaurant. The peaceful setting is away from the busy tourist spots, but still an easy drive to nearby attraction towns. The Warren Store right next door is a must-visit. A perfect retreat if you want to relax in comfort and style!

The food was an absolute 12/10. Chef Jacob and the kitchen team, Marine, Arra, Cem, Ervin, and Stella, made dishes every guest raved about. Not one plate came back, and they handled a gluten-free request for one guest with the same care as every other dish. Head baker Jordan made a stunning, magazine-worthy cake that tasted just as good. Caitlin worked behind the scenes and made everything feel effortless. I didn’t stress once. She took so much off my plate, made decisions simple, and stepped in to choose for me when needed. That calm confidence is priceless at a wedding. We held our very small, intimate wedding celebration at The Pitcher Inn in February 2025, after a courthouse ceremony up the road, then a simple cocktail-style gathering. The event was understated by design, but the planning and care behind it were extraordinary. Jim led the service team with warmth and skill, making everything seamless. He also made sure our entire two-night post-wedding stay went just as smoothly. Sergiu, Shanay, Jannielle, and Zee brought so much joy and energy. They kept things fun and engaging, and our guests loved connecting with them. Sergiu and Zee even treated us to coffee and pastries across the road on departure day, a small gesture that says a lot about the team’s thoughtfulness and generosity. The Pitcher Inn will always be special to us. It’s where we choose to go for a Vermont staycation when we get the chance, and the people are a big part of why. Justin, Betsy, and the whole team make us feel known, welcomed, and genuinely cared for every time we return. We hope the staff who travel from elsewhere to work at The Pitcher during winter keep coming back year after year. The people bring the place to life, and we’re grateful to every one of them. We already can’t wait to stay again, and maybe even have a vow renewal someday as an excuse to celebrate here once more.
