Budget Inn Madill

For smokers, it seems like a good deal for the price. The room and cost were both fine, but they only had smoking rooms at the time, which didn’t work for me.

The staff were friendly, but they didn’t seem concerned about the problems, which is why I’m rating the place so low. My wife and I barely slept in the first room. The bed was worn out, I could feel the metal through the mattress, the bedding had cigarette burns, and the room was tiny with no end tables. When I brought it up, staff said the mattresses in that part of the inn were at least five years old and offered a larger room with a better bed for an extra fee. We moved early the next morning. The new bed was better, but the coffee maker was broken, the TV remote batteries were dead, and there was a hole in the bathroom door where it looked like it had been punched or hit.

There were bugs everywhere, including roaches in the drawers, and the furniture was old. The mattress was thin, the bedding smelled, and it had burn holes. Bring Lysol and bug spray. The staff were rude too. While I was sitting outside, a woman called and left me a voicemail telling me to get inside. I paid a $50 deposit. A man came to the room, saw that the tub stopper was out, and said I’d broken it, even though it wasn’t broken and went right back into the drain. They kept my deposit. I’d bet this has happened to other people too, and it was wrong.

The room was clean, had no bad smells or bugs, and looked like it had been remodeled. It was pretty small, but that’s what I expected for the price. My only issue was the rock-hard bed. They’re getting new beds, and the deluxe rooms have 16 inch mattresses. If I’d known, I would’ve paid the extra $10. I’ll definitely stay again.
