Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

The clerk was very nice and moved us after we reported the condition of our first room. It was badly beaten up, with the headboard ripped off, a cut comforter, writing on the wall, graffiti carved into the toilet seat, and a broken back door. The second room was better, though plenty of small things still needed cleaning or repairs, and staff should have handled them or kept the room out of service. It was convenient this time, and we were on a tight budget, so it did the job. Still, I don’t think I’ll stay here again. Guests should treat hotel rooms with more respect, especially at cheaper places.

Our first room had no working lights or refrigerator, a busted telephone, and filthy carpets worn almost down to nothing. They moved us, but when we entered the new room, someone else was already in it. We asked for the charge to be put back on our card. By the time we reached another hotel, the card was declined because they had charged more than the receipt amount and taken another hundred dollars. They said it would take 3-5 business days to refund that. We were left in a terrible spot. Don’t stay here.

The room was surprisingly nice for such a cheap price, and the bathroom tub is huge. It was a little hard to figure out how to get to my room, but once inside, I was impressed. The front desk attendant was clean and well kept, very nice and helpful at check-in, and made sure I got all the information I needed and asked for. I’d definitely spend another night here or use the hotel for a getaway.

After we hauled all our things upstairs, down the hall, and back down again, we found at least 10 cockroaches in our room, plus a couple of ants and a spider. I told my family we were leaving right away and went to the office to ask for a refund. The place smelled bad and was dirty, like a horror movie. I booked online because the photos looked clean and respectable for a family stopping overnight during a cross-country drive. There was a door directly into my room, but since it didn’t always work, the front desk employee hadn’t mentioned it and insisted there was no other way to get there.
