Courtyard Madison East

The courtyard access was nice. We could step outside for fresh air and look at the night sky, and the room itself looked good. But I booked the jetted tub for a one night break to help my husband's back, and the jets were filthy. The bed hurt my back too. For $250, it was nowhere near worth it. I paid extra for breakfast, then they tried to charge us for it again. Staff were friendly, and the appearance and staff were about the only positives. The mattresses need replacing and the jets need cleaning. I wish I could get my money back.

The whirlpool was nice, but that was about the only bright spot. Room #230 had an old, flat bed that was hard and uncomfortable, so I slept badly. The ice from the second-floor machine had bits of black stuff in it. The full-length mirror was behind the bathroom door instead of in the closet or on a wall, which was awkward for getting dressed as a couple. I paid over $300, including breakfast, and this was well below industry standard. I told the staff, but they made no real effort to improve the stay or offer compensation. I was stuck eating the overpriced cost. I don't recommend this room.

The location worked well for what I needed, with lots of shopping and places to eat just a few minutes away. At The Bistro cafe in the lobby, I bought a bagel and fruit cup and enjoyed them. Breakfast isn't included. The front desk staff were very friendly, and the room was really clean. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows came in both big and fluffy and soft and flat.

I was there on and off for seven weeks of training. It's an older hotel, but it was clean, the food was good, and the staff were extremely nice. Rachel especially made being away from home easier. She greeted us with a smile, was really personable, and it was comforting to see the same face at check-in. I only stay at Marriotts, and this one was great. Clean sheets, nice staff, and I used the business center as well. I'd book again.
