GrandStay Residential Suites Madison

I was here for about a week after coming from another state, so this is just my experience during that stay. The first room had mold around the showerhead. I also saw two men enter the exercise room barefoot and use the equipment. The motel is a decent size, and it seems like it needs more than one person cleaning. The floor we were on didn't seem to get properly cleaned. Apart from that, it wasn't bad.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the kids liked having a little basketball court out back. Our suite was a decent size, but cleanliness was an issue: there were big carpet stains and dust gathered in the corners. We were there with a travel team, and several others had the same experience. The pool was small, and multiple doors had dirt and stains on them. Breakfast was decent, though the lack of cleanliness made us hesitant about it.

The hotel felt dirty and run-down, and the staffing seemed thin, which showed in the upkeep. We couldn't find extra pillows or sheets for the foldout couch in the room, so we had to go ask at the desk. It was also hard to find someone working there. I couldn't check in at 3 because the room was still being cleaned. The hot tub was broken, and the pool was too cold to enjoy. For the price, this was very disappointing. I'd strongly recommend staying elsewhere, especially with kids.

We were in town for a wedding at Warner Park, about 12 minutes away, and stayed one night. The place looked recently renovated, and our room was fine except that the door stuck. There are useful things here if you're staying a few days or even up to a week, including what you need to cook and do your laundry. Breakfast was a miss for me: no fruit or hot choices, just waffles, toast, cereal, coffee, and bagels.
