The location worked perfectly for our shopping plans, and I loved the receptionist, she was amazing. The room was disappointing, though. There was a large crack in the window glass, the TV was static-y, and it was hard to find a convenient outlet for my phone. One side of the bed had an outlet, but not the other, and there wasn't one near the desk. The hair dryer didn't work either, though that was a small issue.
Good value, with very kind and helpful staff. The mattresses weren't comfortable, the rooms are small, and breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, but the price makes sense. Housekeeping does a great job keeping things looking nice, even though the place is older and a little worn.
We were a long way from home, and the price was amazing. Everyone was personal and very, very nice, saying good morning and putting out a wonderful breakfast. The rooms and the whole place were immaculately clean. They also allow one pet on a designated pet-friendly floor. This place is really awesome, and I'd recommend it to anyone I know. If we go back next year, we'll stay here again 😊
The rooms were tiny, and the little TVs were awkwardly placed and barely bigger than my tablet. The so-called weight room was really a storage closet with two old, grimy machines that looked unsafe. My husband was propositioned by women when we arrived, and it gave the place a working-girl feel. There were people smoking meth in the hallway, and being on the ground floor made me want to check that the window was locked right away. The atmosphere was disgusting, with police and ambulance sirens during the night. When I complained that the TV in our first room didn't work at all, they moved us to one where the air conditioner didn't work. I woke up itching and found bed bug bites on my arms, back, and eyebrow. The view from our window says plenty.
I checked out on Sunday morning and asked for a receipt documenting the $170 charge. Kendra was difficult again and accused me of being rude. She said I was banned from returning, and I told her she was the least professional customer service person I’d dealt with. As my friends and I left, I put the keycards on the counter and said we were checking out. I kept walking because I was done dealing with her. My friend said Kendra picked up the cards, slammed them down, and gave me the middle finger. Later that evening, I called and started telling the story to a man who answered, but Kendra interrupted. I said I wasn’t speaking to her, and she hung up. On Monday, the $170 was still pending, and two $50 charges were pending too, one dated September 19 and the other Sunday, September 21. I called that night. Earlier, I’d asked for no action, but now I’m requesting a callback Tuesday, September 23, between 9:30 and 10 a.m., during my work break, since I have limited phone access the rest of the day. I booked two nights, September 19 through 21, on Hotels.com in July and paid $245. During online check-in that September afternoon, I entered my card details and was charged $1, which I had no issue with. On the morning of September 19, another $170 appeared, so I called. Kendra answered, put me on hold, and I could hear a conversation in the background, including one curse word. She checked and said the charge was for the room. I explained I’d already paid $245 and asked why the total was now over $400. She kept saying Microtel needed to be paid and didn’t seem concerned about the guest. When I asked for the manager, she refused to get them. Kendra later called to say there had been a mistake, but didn’t apologize. I arrived around 8:45 p.m. Friday without any check-in trouble. The front desk agent was polite, knew about the situation, and said the charge had been reversed. As of Monday night, though, the $170 was still pending.
