It’s an older hotel, but it was clean, with ice-cold AC and hot water. The check-in staff member was really friendly, quick, and went out of her way to help. The place was quiet and peaceful, and the bed was comfortable, so it worked well for sleeping while traveling. It’s just off I-10, with several gas stations and a McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Dairy Queen, and Subway nearby.

We left a day early because we couldn’t sleep with the highway traffic constantly zooming by. I’d asked for a king bed, but got two queens instead. I had two large dogs and brought their bed, but there wasn’t room to set it down. We’d reserved ahead, and the parking lot was empty when we arrived, so I don’t understand why we didn’t get the room we requested. There was also a big gap beneath the door where bugs could crawl in. For almost $100 a night, I expected better. The front desk ladies were very nice, but the room was in rough shape. The floor looked like it had never been cleaned, and I found bugs behind the bed, along the dresser wall, and by the sideboards. The TV didn’t work, the fire alarm was sitting on the table, and the bathroom vent was hanging out. The showerhead was half plugged, so only a third of it sprayed. Both the shower and sink were missing plungers, and water bugs crawled out. The advertised breakfast was a bagel and juice or coffee.

The bed was comfortable, it stayed quiet all night, and the heat and air worked. It was Monday, though, and I think I got lucky. I’d only stay again for around $20 less, in that same room after they fixed the toilet and water heater. The toilet seat was completely off, so I had to hold it carefully every time. Once seated, the toilet felt and sounded like I might fall through the floor. The hot water ran out very quickly, even though I take short showers. The soap wouldn’t lather, and the coffee maker didn’t work. The microwave might work, but the only way to find out was to unplug the TV and use its outlet. There was no breakfast, and the soda machine was broken. I wish I’d read the reviews first. I expected some standards even at a low price. The TV only worked if you had streaming accounts, which is ridiculous when guests should be able to watch TV. They should have cable or charge less. I’d have spent all night in the dark if I didn’t use streaming at home. Remember to log out, y’all! I’d read that there was a bullet hole in the window, and it’s still there. Other reviews mentioned dirty rooms and linen, but my towels smelled good and were as white as snow. I wiped surfaces with Clorox wipes and they came away clean, so those had actually been cleaned.

There were spiderwebs on the ceiling in my room and outside the door. A spider bit my face and it swelled up. When I put alcohol on it, the bite burst and pus came out. A doctor at the hospital has now given me antibiotics for it. The next morning, I found a spider in the bathroom of room 113 and posted a picture. This place needs a serious cleaning, with spiderwebs all over the property.

Checkout was at 11, wasn’t it? I got back around 9:45 after dropping my niece at school and getting breakfast. The website says they have breakfast, but they don’t. I wanted to relax a bit before a long drive, maybe take a nap. Instead, I found my door pushed open, curtains pulled back, and the bedding bunched up on the bed like someone had been searching through it. My overnight bag, clothes, and snacks and drinks were missing. I’d stayed because I’d worked for the owners before and thought it would be good since they’d been cool when I worked for them. I was wrong. The night receptionist was fabulous, but the morning person and DM were horrible. I told the front desk my things were gone and someone had been in my room. Ms Cindy, the now owner, was there and everyone stayed quiet until she left. Then the attitude started. The lady said they thought I’d left because there was no car there. I hadn’t turned in my room key, and my things were still inside, so how did that make sense? My belongings had been packed into a trash bag and taken to the front, but not the food and drinks. Walking to my car to cool off, I saw all the food in the trash. The gift bag and my red bull were there, open and empty. I went back and asked what happened to the food. She said she didn’t know anything about it. I pointed out the open red bull, the missing six-pack of mountain dews and Oreos, and the unopened bag of chips. She kept denying she’d seen or heard anything, even though one of the mountain dews was right there on the table. I called my mom to come over because I get mad and stutter when I talk. They kept calling her “sir” to be petty, then told her there was nothing they could do. She said they could refund the food and dip that were missing or she’d call the law over invasion of privacy and stealing. They refunded the food and drinks. Their attitudes got worse when they realized they’d been caught. Then the maintenance guy pulled everything out of the trash, laid it on the floor, and asked if that was everything. I said no, the Oreos, chips and dip, mountain dews, and redbull were missing. He got louder and asked how much I wanted for all of it. I said it was being handled. I hope you enjoy the dip in one of alls pocket. Somes been redipped at least twice!! (Not really.) I’ll never stay there again. They’ve been called the raggedy Reagans for years for a reason. Just plain raggedy. PAY THE EXTRA!! DONT STAY HERE. REMEMBER RAGGEDY REAGANS!!!
