La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madison American Center

We went to Sun Prairie for a quick overnight visit with family and had a good stay at the La Quinta. The room was fairly comfortable, though the bathtub needs remodeling and the office chair should be replaced. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We're satisfied and would consider staying at this location again next time we're in Sun Prairie.

The room was filthy when I arrived: dirty floors, smeared walls, messy paint, and sections of the ceiling falling down. The bathroom smelled foul, with stains on the toilet and a tub that hadn't been scrubbed. I asked the front desk for another room, but the one they showed me was just as dirty and rundown. Rather than address it, they told me to go to a different hotel. That's how they handled it. Management clearly doesn't care about guests, cleanliness, or basic hospitality. This place needs to be cleaned and renovated properly before anyone stays there. I wouldn't recommend it for even one night. Stay away. You'll regret every minute.

The lobby looked nice, but the room was a different story. The bathroom was so dim it was like having only a night-light, which made getting ready strange. It was dirty, and the tub had soap scum and grime, so we decided not to shower. There was visible dirt near the light switch, and the floors didn't look cleaned at all. I could see handprints on the headboard, and when I spilled a little water and used a towel to wipe it up, the towel came away covered in dirt. It really seemed like the floors hadn't been washed. One of the worst La Quinta's we've stayed at, and we won't return.

It's in a comfortable area where it's easy to find some peace and quiet. The rooms need to be cleaner, though, and the reception staff seemed annoyed. Only one guy gave us good service.
