Rodeway Inn & Suites Madison East

Travelers, beware. I never stayed here because the room I booked was changed after confirmation. The travel agent listing clearly said it had an in-room whirlpool tub and showed five photos of one, but I was given a king room without that feature. I contacted the hotel for a refund or the room I had reserved and got no reply because the manager wasn't in. My travel agent also tried several times to get a refund or change, but was denied each time. Choice Hotels couldn't help since I booked through an agency. I had screenshots of what I booked, so this was especially frustrating. It felt like bait and switch, and I wouldn't recommend booking here for a Madison stay. Choice Hotels should remove this hotel from its group, and management needs serious customer service training.

I was treated to such lovely hospitality by the owners. If I'm ever back in that part of Madison, this will be my first choice. Thank you for being so kind to me.

This stay was miserable. The room was dirty and overpriced, and there was no breakfast. I saw signs of bedbugs, a crack or weed pipe in the room, and what looked like human feces wiped on the bathroom wall. The tub was dirty too. The place smelled of cigarettes, weed, and mildew. People were yelling and laughing until early morning, and the staff were rude. I also reported a spill by the soda machine, but after three days of telling them, it still hadn't been cleaned.

We didn't feel safe enough to stay, so after driving nine hours to get there, we got back on the road for another nine hours without resting. People were sitting on the parking lot walls, drinking and smoking weed, and taunting us about our motorcycles. Others kept coming and going with duffel bags. We told the desk clerk, who looked at the cameras with us, but said he couldn't see what we meant. The lobby stank, too. The clerk said we'd be able to see our vehicles from the room, but all I wanted was to sleep. We had booked for August 15, 2025, and the room had already been paid for on October 24, 2024. I was shocked because they usually just hold your card and charge when you arrive. When I called about the charge, they refused to remove it. This was awful, and I'm going to the CEO.
