Quality Inn

The parking lot is small, and that could be a hassle when a lot of guests are there. There are two entrances, but a car checking in can block the main one because there’s little space in front of the lobby. To use the other entrance, you’d have to go around the block since it’s on a one-way street. Even so, we plan to stay again when we next visit family. My boyfriend, our small dog, and I spent about a week here, and it was one of the nicer hotels on our 1,000-mile trip. The front desk employees were very nice, and they offer some discounts for reward members. My boyfriend got a reduced pet fee for staying multiple nights. I appreciated the grassy dog relief area, since nearby hotels only had concrete. Our room was comfortable the whole time, which we needed after a couple of bad hotel experiences. Breakfast had more hot options than I’ve seen at other hotels. The location is convenient too, with plenty of stores, restaurants, and services around town.

The room was quiet despite being close to the main road, which mattered most to me. It was very clean, had no smell like other places, and came with a huge TV and fast wifi. The owners were kind, and I got a free room upgrade. Breakfast was American. Madras itself wasn’t the nicest place I’ve seen, to be honest. Bad weather kept me from playing golf with Clifford, which was a shame. I’d have loved to take his money. ;-)

This place is dated but clean, with outdoor entrances to its two-story building. There’s a small pool, exercise room, and laundry room. Our receptionist was very sweet and tried hard to get us a first-floor room. One room ended up upstairs, and with no elevator she arranged for our bags to be carried up promptly. The rooms are basic, with a desk and chair, bed, microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. Lighting is poor, just three lamps that barely light the room. The air conditioner worked, but cycling on and off all night kept us awake. We stayed two days and requested room service. They changed our towels nicely, but the bed was just thrown together and wasn’t really made. Breakfast is provided in the morning, and there are a few restaurants within walking distance.
