I was quoted $112 including tax for the room, plus a $25 nonrefundable pet deposit, but my total came to $224.29. They also charged me $80 for two soiled, not stained, towels and soiled sheets. The towels were the ones used on the floor after a shower, and my dog jumped on the bed after being outside and left several paw prints. Those marks should wash out in a machine. Since linens and towels have to be washed between guests anyway, I don't understand the extra cleaning fee on top of the $25. The room and hotel were great, but the breakfast was nasty and the food was extremely poor quality. Best Western emailed me photos that only add to my case, since everything shown can be washed and should be washed after checkout. The cleaning crew didn't have to do anything beyond their usual work, yet I was charged $80. I hope Best Western is happy with that money, because I'll never stay there again. This place seems to look for every chance to charge your card, knowing guests have little power to do anything. I wondered why they wouldn't take cash at check-in, and now I know. This feels like nothing more than a scam. I hope nobody stays there. Sleeping in my car at a rest area would have been a better option.

The breakfast had plenty of choices, was good, and the dining area stayed clean between guests. Staff were personable and ready to help. We stayed two nights to ski at Cataloochee. We arrived early, before the room was ready, and it was only just ready by the scheduled 3:00 pm time. The room was clean and had the advertised amenities, though the refrigerator had no freezer compartment. The phone didn't work, but they fixed it right away, and they quickly brought a replacement hair dryer when ours failed. When I reached for a Kleenex, the chrome cover fell off. The hot tub was out of service, and I never found the designated smoking area. They said smoking was allowed anywhere at least 8 feet from the building. I know this isn't a 4 or 5 star facility, but maintenance could use some attention.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed two nights in October in a really nice, clean second floor room. It's in a good spot in Maggie Valley, right beside a sports bar with good food. I'll stay here again when I'm back in town.

We were there for Thunder in the Smokies, with probably 100 bikes parked there last weekend, so I appreciated the security cameras. The staff were friendly and engaging, and the man at the desk made a point of remembering our names. Breakfast was hot and good. I usually notice things I dislike in hotels pretty quickly, but nothing stood out here. It was clean, smelled nice, and left me pleasantly satisfied. Hotel ratings can be hard, but I'd definitely stay again.

I really liked the place and the area, and the Wi-Fi was great. The view was amazing and made up for a lot. The main problem was the freezing shower water: it would get hot for three minutes, turn cold again, and then take 20 minutes to heat back up. I also remember finding a few small cockroaches. 💔🥺
