The room had a stale, moldy, mildewy smell, and there was mold in the bathroom. It was noisy, too. The A/C was hard to adjust because there was a wall thermostat as well as one on the unit. There were no instructions about which to use, so I set them both the same, but the room still wasn’t comfortable.

The beds weren’t comfortable, but the hotel was clean and nice, in a good location, and the breakfast was very good. The staff were nice, especially the young woman working that night. After storms had knocked out the electricity earlier, she came to my room and got the air conditioning and heat working. I wish I could remember her name.

We got there early, and the friendly, helpful check-in staff let us in anyway. The facilities were clean and functional, and the gym had enough equipment for a full-body workout. Breakfast was good, though not very gluten-free friendly. They had eggs and sausage, but I wasn’t sure whether the sausage was gluten-free, and there was no bacon on the mornings we were there. There’s a good Mexican restaurant next door. All in all, a good stay.

Brenda went above and beyond when our family came to say goodbye to our beloved aunt. There were seven of us and two bedrooms, and Brenda gladly let us play cards in the dining room that Friday. She was so sweet, making coffee and bringing muffins while we played. I can’t thank her enough for helping us relax and spend time together during a difficult time. We’ll keep staying at Holiday Inn. We live in NW Fort Worth, Texas, and try to visit Magnolia once a year for our family reunion in November. Holiday Inn has always been our go-to, and this recent trip on February 21st and 22nd was to say goodbye to our aunt. Thank you again, Brenda, for making it memorable.
