La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston - Magnolia

The people were great, and the whole place was very clean. There was plenty to eat at breakfast, too. Everything looks freshly redone, from the carpet and paint to the rest of the rooms, and it even smells wonderful. I didn’t see any bugs. The location is great and there are lots of rooms. The TV was the letdown. It was small, and the Spectrum channels would sometimes go blank when switching around. The selection wasn't much, and there was no way to connect a phone or use Netflix or other subscriptions.

Check-in and checkout were easy, the staff were pleasant, and breakfast was great. The location worked well, and it's the only hotel in the area. Our room, though, was in awful shape. The walls were wet in several spots, especially near the A/C, and some areas looked painted over to cover leaks. When pressed, they dented and felt damp. It was Iron Man weekend, so we couldn't move to another room. We were near the shopping strip center next door, and the lights in both parking lots stayed on all night. If you get a suite, expect the windows to look out onto what feels like daylight all night.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were nice. I still left early and wouldn't recommend staying here. The room had a moldy smell, stains everywhere, and a bathtub that was honestly disgusting. I gave the AC a chance to cool things down and make the room more comfortable, but the place felt nasty throughout my stay. I wish they had offered some kind of refund or accommodation. This was easily the worst La Quinta I've stayed at.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location, since it's the only hotel in Magnolia, Tx. The musty smell, old uncomfortable beds and pillows, stained carpet, torn curtains, and chipped walls all need attention. Management really needs to bring the hotel up to some kind of standard, and the staff seemed indifferent at best. I was traveling with family, and they saw bugs in their room and had to switch rooms. Breakfast was another problem: the waffle mix and juices were watered down. Who does that?
