Several things went wrong during my weekend visit. My reservation for a king bed was canceled without telling me, and I was given two queen beds instead. The lamp between them had an electrical short. It didn't work for a day, then suddenly turned on by itself in the afternoon. Housekeeping skipped the room because I was there. They said they'd come back later but never did. Late Saturday night, I was sitting on the bathroom toilet when it suddenly tipped sideways onto the floor, with water spilling from the tank. I cut my hand trying to lift the broken toilet and tank back up. Cockroaches that had been under the toilet came out into the room. I moved to another room that had a king bed, even though I'd been told my reservation was canceled and no king beds were available. The owner won't call me back or answer when I call, probably because of caller ID. If you see bad reviews, don't ignore them. They may be right.

The rain was so loud on the next-door guest's car hood, parked under the roof, that gutters would help. The shower also has a stained drop ceiling, which doesn't make much sense in a remodeled room. My main complaint is the bedspread. It's paper thin, so depending on the AC, you either freeze or get too hot. Every room should have both a blanket and a comforter or bedspread.

The desk clerk was especially cordial and let us know renovations were still going on. The breakfast attendant was very accommodating as well. The room was clean but a little dated, about what we expected from a 2-star hotel.

While I was out of the room, someone kicked in my door and stole my purse. The owner took over an hour to arrive and didn't seem concerned. He said the surveillance system was great but that he didn't have time to review it for me, and that what happened wasn't his problem. I'd been staying there off and on for over three months. I was banned afterward, and he tried to charge my credit cards for the damage. Very unprofessional. It felt like money mattered more to him than satisfying customers. Definitely don't stay here.

Nothing stood out about this hotel, good or bad. It was just an ordinary place to spend the night. The only issue I noticed was that the shower could use a bit more water pressure. Otherwise, it was okay.
