Garner Hotel Mahwah by IHG

We spent four nights and five days here and were pleased throughout. The hotel looks new, the staff were helpful and pleasant, and breakfast was pretty good too. We'll come back whenever we visit New Jersey.

This was my first time in the U.S., and cleanliness was my main priority. I found the hotel nice and clean, and the room had been renovated, which I liked. There was no fridge or microwave in the room. Breakfast was very basic with only a few choices, but it worked for my family and me since my kids love cereal.

After a tiring day of travel delays and stress, Lisa greeted us warmly at check-in and quickly lifted our spirits. She was attentive and even went to get us ice so we could unwind. The room was spacious and peaceful, with plush, incredibly comfortable beds that made for a good night's sleep. Thanks, Lisa. We'd stay again if we're in the area.

The location worked well, close to gas stations and an easy drive from restaurants. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the hotel had recently been renovated. Just know there are no refrigerators in any of the rooms, though there's an ice machine on the second floor. Breakfast was okay, mostly bagels and that sort of thing, and we hadn't expected much. The fitness room was being renovated on July 30, but we were told it would reopen very soon. It was a good one-night stay.
