Parking was the one thing that caught us off guard. Nobody mentioned at check-in that it cost extra or asked for our vehicle details, then the fee showed up on our final bill. That should've been made clear upfront. The suite had a decent amount of space for two bedrooms and was reasonably clean. We enjoyed the stay, though daily housekeeping would've been nice. The pool needed a proper cleaning, and the second floor and laundry room looked dingy and due for a deep clean. The waffle irons were a letdown too. During our seven nights, a waffle maker worked just once. We'd still consider coming back.
The pet-friendly policy was a big plus for our two-week stay. I brought my dog and my 20-year-old cat, and the room was comfortable with a full kitchen. There are outdoor pet areas, but some owners left dog poop everywhere, which was especially unpleasant while walking my blind dog. I didn't want full housekeeping coming in while my family was there, and they were accommodating about giving us clean towels. I also got fresh linens and handled them myself. Breakfast was served every morning, with the usual eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, and coffee available all day. On the weekend there were waffles and some other choices. Maintenance was quick and professional when I first called about a bathroom problem. Julio fixed that, and later helped with the key trouble too. The checkout extension from noon to 2 p.m. was fine with me: the first extra hour was free and each hour after cost $35. But while my son and I were moving bags to the car, our cards stopped working and we got locked out. We had to walk around to the front desk twice to get them reactivated. The second time, the desk employee couldn't get the card working and told me to find someone in the hall to let me in. My purse and dog were still in the room. Thankfully, I found a housekeeper who opened it for me. I saw Michelle as I was leaving and told her what had happened. She'd already been helping with my housekeeping requests, and she was so caring and concerned. She was a real credit to the hotel. Julio also explained to the desk that if the card couldn't be activated, its battery would need replacing. Eventually a manager came out and got the card working. By then I had my purse and dog, and the desk employee rudely said she'd check me out. After all that, I hope I didn't leave anything behind. The other staff really went out of their way to help.
The staff were the strongest part of my stay. The front desk woman was very apologetic and let me leave my luggage while I went to dinner, and she was helpful again when my shower wouldn't turn on. Maintenance arrived around 10:30 the next morning and fixed it. The maintenance and housekeeping teams were outstanding. Still, the property needs more attention. My room was clean, but bugs were getting inside. The elliptical in the nice fitness center worked mechanically, though its electronics wouldn't power up at all. I'd switched from my usual Hilton property to Homewood Suites expecting something nicer, and I think that was a mistake. I checked in on the Hilton app the day before, requested a digital key, and entered a 4 p.m. arrival time. When I got there at 5, my room wasn't ready. I came back at 6:30 and it was available, but I needed physical keys because the app key hadn't worked after the check-in issue. With so many problems and a lack of attention to detail, I'll probably stay somewhere else when I'm back in town next year. I can't recommend it.
We had a short, comfortable stay here in May 2024 for the SNHU Commencement Ceremony. Getting around was easy because the hotel is close to both downtown Manchester and the airport. The suite fit four people without feeling cramped, and the whole place felt quiet and well cared for. The facility was exceptionally clean, and the staff were consistently welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included, varied, and well stocked, which made the stay even more convenient.
It was really quiet here, with no loud parties or crowd of guests, and breakfast was good with a decent range of choices. It was only served for three hours a day, or four on weekends. Parking cost $5 a night, and I'm not sure whether that was per vehicle. That annoyed me. Parking ought to be part of the nightly price when we've already paid enough. I'm tired of Fortune 500 companies nickel-and-diming people to boost profits, but anyway. The room was clean but very mediocre. The cleaning staff were friendly, though they didn't speak English, which made it hard to explain what I needed. The managers on both day and night shifts weren't friendly. Overall, it was underwhelming.
