Motel 6 Manchester, TN

I’d just driven 12 hours from Missouri and was too tired to ask for another room, so this was okay in a pinch. I’d booked around 10 PM for a non-smoking ground-floor room, but arrived 15 minutes later and was given a Veterans discount, which I appreciated, and a key card quickly. Instead, I had to carry my overnight bag up the stairs. I’m a 70-year-old woman and a fall risk. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, like a week-old ashtray, and the air conditioner barely worked. The smell bothered me all night, as did a bird chirping outside. It had a nest under the roof eaves a few rooms away, and I’m surprised nobody complained. In the morning, a laundry bin was blocking the bottom of the stairs while I carried my bag down. I dropped the key at the front office and left.

The staff were really helpful, and the room was clean, quiet, and in a safe location. It was a little dated, but that didn’t bother me. There was plenty of space for our extra luggage and large dog bed, and the room was bigger than most Motel 6 rooms.

The breakfast was outstanding, with excellent juice, delicious pancakes and sausage links, and K-cup or urn coffee. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with nice towels and linens. Highly recommended.

Neil at the front desk was amazing. We checked in around 11 PM and got two rooms. People may expect the worst from Motel 6, but this place was nothing like that. The rooms were immaculate and smelled freshly cleaned. It’s a great location, within walking distance of Walmart and other places, and Murfreesboro is only a 45-minute drive away. There is a deposit, but it’s refundable, and pets stay free.
