Aspen woods feels like a safe area, with cameras intended to protect the community, but the leasing office doesn't act on serious problems affecting tenants. A neighbor has multiple reports of violence and harassment from residents, yet the office seems nonchalant despite police reports and tenant reports. There have been threats to harm people, and as paying tenants we don't feel safe. They also seem to violate their own lease agreements, even though CT state laws require them to get involved. Maintenance is poor too. We submitted several tickets about a washer, but nobody fixed it, and they keep closing the tickets as if the issue was resolved. In winter, snow removal seems to be their only priority, and even that is very subpar. With the current price and how they manage the community, I wouldn't recommend moving here.

I should've listened to the earlier reviews. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I regret moving here and hate it. I have 11 months left on my lease, then I'm out. The hallways are dirty and stink, and the neighbors stomp around over me all day. The only person in the office I like is Tina. Aside from that, disgusting.

The tenants' safety and well-being don't seem to be a priority here. The leasing office won't deal with disputes even with multiple reports about the tenants involved, and it allows people who aren't on a lease to stay longer than permitted. The office also breaks its own lease rules. Maintenance doesn't respond to tickets unless they're emergencies, and even then may not respond. There's just no urgency or action.

The neighborhood is pretty good and conveniently located, and I haven't had trouble with anyone in my building. The apartments are another story: maintenance is slow, the buildings are falling apart, and there's mold in my laundry closet wall plus drywall disintegrating from years of leaks. Management doesn't seem to have a relationship with residents, and it's hard to reach the right person about concerns. Three months after my first review, management had responded quickly, but little was actually done. Repairs for the mold took about two weeks after we discussed it, and all they did was put Kilz on the affected surfaces. Other maintenance requests were closed without being completed, and there's no way to reopen them. I'm lowering my rating.

The apartments are decent and spacious, and this community seems better than others in the same rent range. Service is prompt. But they still haven't figured out how to get rid of the cigarette smell in my bathroom.
