Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Manchester

The room was good value and deserves a 5 out of 5. The linens were clean, and it had all the basic things I needed. Breakfast was a letdown, though, with very few choices. I also wasn’t keen on the “great value” milk, bread, and other items.

The room was nice and clean, and the service was great, but the breakfast and TV setup need improvement. You can only watch cable unless you have a hotspot; the TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi or support AirPlay or apps like Netflix, Disney Plus, or even your e. Breakfast didn’t match the website pictures, which had us expecting waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon. There were no waffles, and the only eggs were hard-boiled and tasted a couple of days old. Another guest expected waffles too, but the host said they were too “messt,” which came across as lazy, especially with a broken coffee maker and expired muffins around. They did have sausage, eggs, bagels, cereal, yogurt, and pancakes. The room and service were good, but it could be a lot better.

I grew up in Manchester, so I’d never needed to book a hotel there before. On this trip, my wife, son, and I had business in Nashville, and I was also visiting family in Manchester. For the price, Microtel by Wyndham was a pleasant surprise. Madison and Sam were great hosts and made us feel welcome. The free continental breakfast felt like a buffet, and we really enjoyed it. Our room was clean, private, comfortable, and everything worked. Given the quality and location for the price, I’d recommend Microtel by Wyndham to anyone staying in Manchester.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I saw several cockroaches in the room, both alive and dead. They also charged me for an extra night, and instead of fixing the mistake, the manager argued with me and called me rude. My $100 deposit still hadn’t been returned more than two weeks later, so I had to call and ask them to send it back.
